The artist Miki Leal (Sevilla, 1974) has designed the poster for the 2011 Pedro Romero Fair. In past editions it has been designed by artists such as Eduardo Arroyo (1999), Guillermo Pérez Villalta (2002), Miquel Barceló (2003) and even Pablo Picasso, whose painting Torero (1973) was reproduced on the 2006 poster. In this year’s poster Miki Leal pays homage to landscape painters of the 19th century who so loved the city of Ronda: “The Ronda landscape seems to float in an atmosphere of colour that transcends the real landscape to speak of the fair as a moment of celebration, enjoyment and mystery,” explains the art historian María José Solano.

Miki Leal has exhibited in galleries such as Rafael Ortiz in Seville, Maribel López (Berlin), Seno (Milán) and Track 16 Gallery (L.A.). His work can be found at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León (MUSAC), Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía and the BBAA de Santander collection.
